Review : The Wrong Number – Carys Jones

Wrong number is a book with a superb premise, but unfortunately for me, didn’t live up to it’s promising start.

I felt like there was a lot of potential in the story, and I was quite interested in the development until the point when Amanda realises that her husband Will has a life she knows nothing about. She then takes off on what seems to me to be a really unrealistic road trip with an ex-lover where the point of the book seems to take a twist towards what could have been rather than the fact that her life is turning upside down.

It just seemed unlikely, and I wasn’t feeling the main character – there were too many trite descriptions of clothing and how many drinks she was having. Not to mention ignoring things that you wouldn’t ignore if everything in your life was normal, never mind if your husband has just disappeared. I felt the end was rushed and left questions unanswered and I never really engaged with Amanda,

Sorry, this one wasn’t for me. I was given a free copy of this book in return for an honest review, so thankyou to Netgalley & the publishers.
